My First Ever Duststorm

Woke up to find the bedroom painted an eerie red orange. We do have red curtains, but today the shade is not the same. Looked out the window and the sky is red. First thought that came to my mind is bushfire. That would explain the smell, but not the color. Found out later that the orange haze everywhere is due to the duststorm coming from the west. Said to be the worst is 70 years. It was so bad ferries were canceled and flights were diverted. People are also advised to wear masks or stay indoors.

It's really strange because by afternoon, the haze has mostly cleared up.
